August 24, 2016 by Don Cook Leave a Comment

What to eat before Beachbody Workout Featured ImageBeachbody has variety of home fitness programs to choose from according to your wishes and goals. If you want to lose weight your pick may be 21 Day Fix with simple eating plan, and if your goal is get intense program and ripped body you’ll probably choose Insanity or P90X program. So deciding what to eat during your workout mostly depends on your schedule and the intensity of the exercises.

Work out in the morning

If you work out in the morning, know that your body needs time to digest the food you consume. So, don’t eat at least one hour before exercising.

If you don’t have that amount of time in the morning, save your breakfast after the workout.

Another problem about eating in the morning may be, you might not be hungry, because your body can store glycogen overnight. So, you may not need to eat anything at all. But if your workout is hard and intense try to eat at least banana.

To keep full and energized in the morning try to add carbohydrates to your evening meal.

As previously said, if you are performing exercises like hiking, cycling and easy yoga only make sure to be well hydrated and to drink only water. Also, if you eat small, balanced meals every few hours during daytime, you’ don’t need a pre-workout eating strategy.

Performing harder exercisesPerforming harder exercises

If you are performing harder exercises like Insanity you’ll have to have a strict meal plan and that means that you have to prepare your every meal. Ideal meal is some light snack with 200 calories one hour before exercising. Choose low-fat yogurt with some fresh fruit.

If you are lucky enough to work out in the middle of the day, meal plan is easy to follow no matter what’s your fitness program. The best way is to have balanced diet with small dishes every three hours. And of course, try to drink enough water in the first part of the day.

Work out in the evening

Work out in the eveningIf you work out in the evening it may be tricky not to overeat. You have to eat light dinner that won’t leave you feeling too full before going to bed.

Also, working out straight before bed can affect your sleep. If you’re on a low-calorie diet and plan to train hard at night, you should follow your workout meal plan with a nutritional recovery strategy. If your workout schedule is planned at the evening you have time to prepare your meal plan.

You can start three hours before a workout and eat full but light meal. At evening workouts it’s important to eat before and after exercising because after your workout you’ll want to give the body protein for muscle recovery.

If you are not usually hungry after exercising, make a protein shake. The ideal way is to have a snack is about an hour before a workout. The snack should be relatively high in carbohydrates and moderate in protein while being low in fat. Eating half of banana less than one hour before exercising is a safe choice.
