Last Race This Year
After 35 years, when I completed the course in 29:17, I decided to return to one of my favorite races in Cincinnati! And although it was a different course it has been a good workout and nice day!
With our Turkey hats on we had great time and a greater race. Enjoyed it and hope to be back there next year.
Mega Rope Course
My next adventure was the Mega Rope Course. It was three hours of fun with Shelia in Louisville, KY. Was like being a kid climbing and balancing. Loved the hand over hand rope sections.
After those two great experiences and workouts I decided to give myself some time off from training – some rest period.
So, a 6 day rest period November 25-30 was dedicated to trying to sell my house and search for an RV to go south and enjoy trainings there.
New Training Season
It’s starting with a 6 day rest period — November 25-30, and December 1st 2017 as the first full day of training.
I’m starting my training for the Spring and Summer Triathlon and running races.
My first goal is to increase overall mileage over the next 5 month period, with additional workouts for building stamina. This five month period, will be focusing on overall conditioning, and extreme lean muscle strength.
- P90X Day 1 Chest and Back with AbRipperX
- 30 Mile easy indoor bike
- 6 miles walk / jog on bike path
Goal, is to
- build the biking up to 50 miles per day,
- maintain P90X, and
- increase running mileage up to 80 miles weekly with running.
This would include a long week of 100 miles, followed by a taper week of 60 miles, repeated.
Will update this weekly, as moving forward. First road race, utilized as a workout, is the Charleston SC half marathon. Signed up for my first race of 2018, Charleston half marathon. – http://charlestonmarathon.com
As my training begins for running, a high number of half marathons and competing in Triathlons 2018, I really want to commit to a marathon in a year or so.
