When do you start your working day? I know some of you start at 9, some of you at 10. But, want to know something: there are days when I don’t start the day, but continue the day before. Especially around some of the holidays, here in America.
It took me working a 35 hour straight day Wednesday / Thursday at my Job yesterday. So, how do you find time to workout, am I eating well, how do I stay healthy, you would ask?
Well very often I don’t find time to workout. And I sometimes eat s**t. And I am aware of that.
BUT, most of the days, not to say everyday, I run. And to be able to do that, I get up at 4 or 5am very often. I get my “best friends” Princie and Coachie, my dogs, and we run, no matter where we are. Because of my job I’m on the road a lot, traveling around America. So, I take my dogs with me. They are my constant companions and they run with me everywhere we find place and time to.
I set my goals and make everything that I can to reach them. My next goal is finishing a marathon this fall, 2016, so this running thing is something I don’t allow myself to skip.
Do I enjoy this?
Well, I’m not going to complain. I love my job, but as I get older I get more tired. So, now I am planning to change the busyness with relaxation.
I finally convinced the President of my company to allow me to bring in a team of people, including two of my Managers to assist with improvement efforts at a facility in Memphis TN. It has been great, and really helping with progress.
I have been trained in Six Sigma, Maynard Operations Sequence Techniques (Engineering Motion and Process), and many other ways to improve efficiencies and controls. I have many college degrees, been to 15 colleges, I am so happy to move forward, and help others learn.
I work around the clock many days, and have only been home for about 4 months over the last 5 years.
I am teaching these managers how to become World Class in what they do. I was over the Second Largest Sort and Ramp Transportation Operation in the World, and have improved 100s of companies and facilities in how to improve everything they do.
How did I get here?
As God led me to this and I never pursued this job, and any job or promotion since 1981, I have never asked for a job, promotion, or increase in pay.
I am not bragging at all, just explaining that the I will work as hard as possible to help others be very successful. It isn’t about me, but the people that I am mentoring to be successful to pay it forward.
I was told after high school, I would never be successful, never go to college, so on, as I was in the slow learning classes, but continuous improvement has been there all my life.
I am still going to go back to college to earn my PHD in business (only need 6 more courses). I feel so good for what God has provided me, I need to do whatever possible to pay it forward in helping others.
The efforts you are putting in, WILL PAY OFF, if you stay dedicated and look at everything to make it successful.
You have to continue to
- review everything,
- changing things, and
- looking at the results.
This is how you will become successful, always thinking, reviewing, changing, and doing things different to net results.
Being busy with my work and on the road a lot has made me gain pounds. So, I decided I mustn’t neglect my health and entered Beachbody first as customer, trying P90X and T25.
And, then I realized that, by becoming a Beachbody Coach, I can use everything I know about motivating people succeed to help people succeed in their lives. But, not a corporate motivation, but a living healthier motivation.
What helps me, also, is the fact that I have always been into fitness, since I was a young kid.
In my 20s, I ran upwards to 175 miles in a week, coached track and field/cross country in high school , Junior Olympics, and in College. Coached USA All Americans, both male and female, at each age group level, up to young men and women. Still today, hold course records, high school records, and college records in track and cross country.
