Everybody talks about Motivation. I see lots of motivational quotes all around the social networks. I post and share some of them, too. I even read motivational books. And yes, they are motivating. But, for how long?
Here is one I created:
Have you woken up in the morning not willing to do anything?
You don’t want to get out of bed. You don’t see the point in moving on. You stop caring about your passion.
Sometimes it is for a moment and then it goes away. But, there are times that this state lasts, for a day, a week, a month or maybe for years.
You can read every motivational quote or book, but will it change anything in those moments?
It won’t. Because you just read it and you don’t do anything about it.
A ‘No motivation to do anything’ state
A week ago, a friend of mine complained:
‘I don’t know what is wrong with me. I feel tired all the time. I just want to lay down and do nothing. Nothing comes in my head nor I want to try to learn something new. I have no motivation to do anything. And it’s a state I have been for quite some time now.’
He, then, reminded me of myself and many other people my age.
Some years ago, I found myself in the same situation. A corporate person, traveling through the States, gaining pound and not willing to change that. I loved my job, but it got so monotonous and at times hard, that I lost all my motivation then.
And losing motivation leads to lethargy, and then to apathy… and it can lead to depression. But, I sure didn’t want to get me to that state.
As a conscious person, I realized my problem and decided I had to change something in my life to get me motivated.
I spoke to many people about what makes them happy and what makes them move on in their lives. And they all had different stories. So, I realized I had to find my motivation on my own.
My way out
I started doing small things, in and out of my home, that I used to avoid doing, so that I could find something that can fulfill my time and desires. I started pushing myself doing things to increase my inner strength.
- I was doing home cleaning, even at times I didn’t feel like doing
- I turned off the PC and TV and went for a walk
- Made some redecoration in my house
- Read some books, even when I wasn’t willing to
- Run with my dogs, I was just walking before
That helped me focus on what I wanted to do and awaken the energy I needed.
Not having enough condition for some of my activities I realized I had to start exercising.
And, as I realized that, I found out about Beachbody. So, I decided to try some of their Fitness programs and see what happens.
It would soon prove to me that getting fit and healthy was about changing me –
A true lifestyle change.
So, the next thing I know was becoming a Team Beachbody Coach.
I found something I got passionate about. I wanted to share my story and make a difference in other people’s lives.
For myself, I had only a some pounds to lose, but for others who had lost 100 pounds or more, I realized that Beachbody is saving lives in the midst of the obesity crisis, happening around the globe. So, I wanted to help all those people.
After talking to many people, family, friends and my Beachbody customers and non customers, I realized that if you are physically inactive, it is almost impossible to get and stay motivated.
Even if you aren’t eating well (eating greasy food, fried food, fast food) will make you lack energy and inspiration.
Every time I go a day or more without working out, my motivation drops rapidly because I have no energy. The same happens when I don’t eat regularly and healthy.
Our brains need good food to work like we want them to. Our bodies need to be used in order to hold themselves in an energetic manner.
Why don’t you get healthy!
It will keep your energy and your motivation to a level it would never drop.

There’s nothing I can tell you about nutrition and health that you don’t know. You know your brain works better when it’s well fed, when you work out, and when you sleep well. You know what’s good for you. Respect yourself.
Determine the fields where you really need motivation
According to what is important to you, you can take actions that would be beneficial for your life and will improve both yours and the life of those around you.
You can, therefore, inspire people and be someone else’s motivation to start living more fulfilling life.
Think about your goals in your life, but don’t forget to think of the little things in life that can contribute to your motivation.
Do you need to learn a new skill to achieve your goal? Go ahead! Learn it!
Get the extra push, energy and perseverance to accomplish any task and to reach any goal.
And at the end, don’t forget to be thankful for everything you learn and achieve.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
