Some days, with the workload I have in my corporate life, I forget to put on my running shoes. That’s why, other days, when I have the free time I put all my efforts to keep up with my active life.
Here is how a really active weekend day looks like:
This is going to be a long active day.
After my Shakeology breakfast (Shakeology and a bag of fruit, and liquids to start the day), I did an hour on the stepup. After a short break I did my round of P90X Lean.
My energy level is through the roof, and I could not understand why it was not prior. I’m going to drop 30 pounds in 2 or 3 weeks.
One time I was at 198 pounds, ran the 5K slow (32 minutes). Went from 198 to 148 pounds my running weight in two weeks, reason, I was running 0 miles. So, I immediately started running 175 miles a week and in two weeks ran a 24 minute 8K (five miles).
I had a run with the dogs, so I’m doing the same thing now. It is a lot mental, and muscle memory.
I ran at 10,000 feet to 13,000 feet, 100 to 140 miles a week for 5 years. Was tested with one of the highest Maximum Oxygen Intakes ever. In a high altitude race (7 thousand feet) came within about 10 feet of the bronze and silver Olympic 5K medalist runners (they out kicked me). Didn’t have the leg speed to compete, as they would beat me by 35 seconds at sea level.
After my launch (two plates of Spaghetti Spinach), I went to the fitness center and I am probably adding a fifth workout tonight.
Going into the mental mode, and getting on this. Also found I wasn’t eating enough, so I was tired — reason I didn’t keep up during the races.
Working 16 hours to around the clock days and all the other stuff, you have to eat, and a lot. I used to eat 12,000 calories plus a day, huge amounts of food. What I am trying not to do now, and eat small meals all day long.
I should be better, more so on the weekends, off of corporate work.
You can tell I am excited and have energy – so it is time to get moving.
